Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £50million fee with Atletico Madrid for want – away striker, Diego Costa.
The Brazil-born Spanish international has been on strike since the end of last season as he tries to force a return to Athletico Madrid.
Costa was shocked during the summer break when he received a text from manager Conte saying he wouldn’t be needed at the club this season.
And the 28-year-old has been keen on a return to former club Atletico Madrid ever since despite strong interests from AC Milan and clubs in China.
Chelsea had been accused of pricing the Spanish international out of a move as Stamford Bridge chiefs held out for their asking price, and the Spaniards have caved to the Blues’ demands despite initially insisting on their £30million offer.
Atletico will be unable to register Costa until January following their transfer ban, but they may be able to secure a six-month loan deal to get keep him fit.
Costa has been training in Brazil after refusing to report to Chelsea, hitting out at the club for treating him like a “criminal” and insisting Conte was distant and lacked charisma.
He bagged 59 goals in 120 games since joining the Blues from Atletico in 2014, leading them to two Premier league titles during that time.
In his stead, Chelsea have since brought in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, who scored his first goal in the defeat against Burnley last week.
The Blues however won their game against rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley with a brace from Marcos Alonso leaving the game at 2-1.
